URTU Learning has partnered with global training provider The Skills Network to offer the opportunity to unlock your full potential and enrol on a nationally accredited qualification of your choice for free*.

We are now able to offer a suite of 37 accredited level 2 and level 3 qualifications to enhance your skill set, further your professional development and enhance your career. The courses include counselling skills, team-leading, customer service, equality and diversity, business administration, understanding mental health problems and more.

These courses are delivered via distance learning methods, either online or using paper-based learning materials, and can be completed within 12-16 weeks. With a dedicated Learner Support Advisor and Subject Specialist Tutor, you are supported through every step of your learning journey.

Free access is also available to your colleagues, family, friends and your wider network. There is no limit to the number of courses you can complete but you can only work on one qualification at a time.

Who can do these courses?

These courses are available free to everyone (including friends and family) who live in England, who are aged 19 or over and have lived in the EU for 3 years.


How many courses can I do?

A learner can undertake as many courses as they wish, however it is recommended to do one at a time.


On the enrolment form, what do I fill in, in relation to funding / payment?

If you leave this section blank, these courses are fully funded by the SFA.


I have not received my enrollment pack

Please e-mail Claire O’Brien the Project Administrator on,  she will be able to chase this up.


Can I request an extension for my course work due date?

Yes, if you need to extend the due date for your course work, you can contact college quoting the course you are undertaking, your name and they will be able assist.


How long do I have to wait to get my certificate?

You should receive your certificate within 12 weeks of completing the course.  If you haven’t received if please contact Claire O’Brien the project administrator.


How do I enrol?

How long do the courses take?

Courses tend to take around 8 – 20 weeks, but extensions can be obtained for up to 12 months.


What format are the courses delivered in?

All courses are available to study in paper based format, some of the courses are also available to study online.  You will be given the choice of either paper based or online on your enrolment form.


How long does it take to receive the course materials once I have sent my completed enrollment form back?

If you have chosen to undertake the course with paper based materials, you should receive these within 2 weeks of the college receiving your completed enrolment form.

 If you have chosen to undertake the course online, you will receive all correspondence via e-mail within 2 weeks of the college receiving your completed enrolment form.  Please check your junk folder as the e-mails may have gone in there. 

 If you have not received any correspondence with this time please contact Claire O’Brien the Project Administrator and she will be able to chase these up.
